The Database will contain historical cases from disease diagnostic laboratories and capture current and future clinical records. The App will be used directly as a teaching tool in both university and outreach education, and its appeal will be enhanced by linking it with two computer learning games, Fish Detective and SimFish that we will create in parallel. As a mobile device friendly interface, the App will be a convenient reference source for veterinarians and other fish health practitioners, for both lab- and field-based diagnostics. The App will facilitate visual identification of fish pathogens, clinical disease signs and treatment options. Goals / Objectives Our goal is to create a mobile application (App) with associated learning Games, and a clinical laboratory Database, to educate students and industry professionals, and enable more accurate and timely identification and remediation of fish pathogens. The database will facilitate data mining for risk assessment and epidemiological studies, including analyses of data from all cases diagnosed by a particular laboratory, by multiple labs within a state, by labs in a multi-state area, and by farmers wanting to track disease over time on their own farm. Non Technical Summary We will create a mobile application (App) with associated learning Games, and a clinical laboratory Database, to educate students and industry professionals, and enable more accurate and timely identification and remediation of fish pathogens.
